The Physical Activity Tracker is a fun and developmentally appropriate way to teach your child about physical activity. Each month we encourage you to assist your child with charting their progress in physical activity each day. You will notice each block has two sections to chart. The top half is designated for the "Structured Play", while the bottom half is designated for the "Unstructured Play". Structured Play is when you make a specific time to be active and plan certain kinds of things to do during that time.

Ideas:
• Play bounce catch
• Balance a bean bag while walking
• Play freeze dance
• Organized sports
• Hopping on one foot

Unstructured Play or "free play" is when the child is left to explore his or her own world. Free play helps develop a child's imagination, creativity, body awareness and sense of space and dimension.

Ideas:
• Pretend play
• Exploring
• Pushing a friend on a swing

Simply write down the number of minutes your child has played each day. At the end of the month review the success with your child and encourage them to keep up the good work!
