Help us attempt to break the Guinness World Record™ for the “Largest Parade of Bikes”.
The current record is 1,901 and it was set on July 21, 2007 in Taipei City, Taiwan.

A free commemorative T-shirt and a BLEND Medallion are guaranteed for the first 2,500 to register.

BLEND program attempts to break Guinness World Record™
for largest parade of bikes

Who:     FREE for everyone…families, parents, kids, grandparents and friends!
What:    Largest Parade of Bikes attempt
When:   2-6 p.m., June 28, 2008
Where:  Whitney Park in St. Cloud
How:      Ride your bike for 2 miles preceding the Granite City Days parade.

Note: Helmets will be required for riders under the age of 18.

Bring your family and friends to a record-breaking bash from 2-6 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Whitney Park in St. Cloud sponsored by BLEND (Better Living: Exercise & Nutrition Daily).

People of all ages are invited to participate in this attempt to break the Guinness World Record’s™ largest parade of bikes. The parade of bikes will precede the Granite City Day parade.

Bike parade participants can enjoy free food sampling and entertainment at Whitney Park before and after they participate.

The Entertainment Includes:

  • A live DJ
  • Giant Trycycle Racing
  • Gunny Sack Race
  • Spin Art
  • Bungee Running
  • Inflatable Moon Walk
  • Spiderman Inflatable Obstacle Course
  • Gigantic Inflatable Titanic Slide

The first 2,500 people to register online at www.BLENDcentralMN.org will receive a free t-shirt and commemorative medallion.

A limited supply of bikes will be available for those who do not have access to a bike. Helmets are encouraged for all bikers and required for those under 18.

Rules for the Event

The rules as established by Guinness are simple:
  • All participants must be riding a bicycle, which is defined as a two wheeled vehicle powered by only pedaling (sorry no training wheels, unicycles, pull behind unites. etc.) ALL forms are strongly encouraged to participate, but only those powered exclusively by two wheeles will count towards the record breaking number.
  • All Bicycles must travel minimum two mile route and all bicycles must cross the start line (near the the Pavilion) and the finish line (near the UC Davis Pavilion).
  • There should be no significant gaps in the parade and also bikes should not be clumped in large groups.
 

BLEND is a local coalition committed to improving the health of children in Central Minnesota by reducing the epidemic of childhood obesity. It is funded through the CentraCare Health Foundation.
