BLEND program encourages families to participate in National Family Dinner Night Sept. 21

St. Cloud, Minn.- Research shows the more often kids eat dinner with their families the less likely they are to smoke, drink oruse drugs, and the more likely theyare to score high marks in school and eat healthier as young adults.

For this reason, BLEND (Better Living: Exercise and NutritionDaily) and its community partners are encouraging all families to participatein National Family Dinner Night Sunday, September 21. BLEND is making it easy andinexpensive by providing a healthy spaghetti dinner menu and partnering withCoborn's, Gold'n Plump and General Mills to provide these healthy food items ata reduced cost.

Scott Adams - Executive Director - YMCA
Scott has been the Executive Director of the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA since July 2002. He has led its resurgence to a financially stable community resource that is focused on "building strong kids, strong families and a strong community." To that end he has been focused inside the Blend group as the chair of the Physical Activity committee.

Prior to joining the YMCA Scott has his own company called, Adams Management Consulting and prior to that was in a variety of leadership positions with Fingerhut Companies, Inc.

Scott has been active in our community as part of the United Way Board, Campaign committee and Speakers Bureau. He was also a Board member with the Boys and Girls Club of Central MN and is the chairman of the local Christian Business Men’s Committee. He has a degree in Chemistry from St. Cloud State University and has lived in the St. Cloud area with his wife Kate for over 28 years.
