Parade of Bikes - Saturday, June 28th, 2008

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

Dear Record Breaker:
We are excited to have you join us in our attempt to have the world’s longest parade of bikes.

Here are some logistics that will help answer any questions you may have regarding this event:

  • Date: Saturday, June 28th, 2008
  • Time: Packet Pick up 1:45 – 2:45
  • Entertainment and activities: 2:00- 6:00
  • Opening Remarks: 2:45
  • Procession begins: 3:00
  • Final count and remarks: when final rider crosses finish line

Upon your arrival please proceed to the registration table to retrieve your number. A volunteer will instruct you to grab some pins and move to another table to fill out your contact information on the bib.  You will then be informed to store your bike in the staging area that coincides with the number on your bib.  For instance 1-100 will go in the first area, 101-200 in the second, etc.

At the end of your ride you will be instructed to remove the bottom portion of your bib to redeem your shirt and medallion. The other 1/2 of that bib will go in a large green box for a drawing for one of 5 FREE bikes and 5 FREE helmets. Volunteers will be there to assist you and answer questions

Finally, we encourage you to mingle and enjoy the festivities and be ready to start up at 2:45. At this time Mayor Kleis will make the opening announcements. Please remember this is not a RACE- We ask that you be courteous to other bikers, take your time and enjoy the ride!

The parade route is:

  • Exit Whitney to Northway Dr (south)
  • Follow to 13th Street N (west)
  • Turn right on 29th Ave (north)
  • Turn right on Stearns Way (East)
  • Turn left on 25th Ave (north)
  • Turn right on Stockinger Drive (east)
  • Turn left into Whitney fields at crosswalk on Stocking Dr
  • Cross finish / counter line

Parking is available at Whitney Park near the softball fields and at the St. Cloud Orthopedic Center. Volunteers will be available to help direct you. If you are able and live in the vicinity of Whitney Park we strongly encourage you to bike to the event to help ease congestion.

This is a rain of shine event. In the case of dangerous weather, please check email and WJON.

Once again THANK YOU and I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
